Best Things to Do on the Las Vegas Strip

Gambling is the most popular activity in Vegas. You can’t walk more than 20 feet without seeing a slot machine. And, while you are welcome to gamble, there is much more to Vegas than that.

1. See a Cirque du Soleil Show

One of my favorite things on the Las Vegas Strip is seeing a Cirque du Soleil show. This breathtaking performance is a circus-style presentation featuring several acrobatic acts. The performers are all human entertainers with amazingly impressive skills.

There are numerous Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas, including “Mystere,” the show that launched their career in Vegas, “O,” which is performed in water, and other rotating productions. This is an excellent exercise for people of all ages, and you’ll be amazed at what the performers can do.

2. Watch a Magic Show

Another popular kind of entertainment is to attend a magic performance. There are usually several simultaneously, and I guarantee you’ll see an advertisement for a couple. Shin Lim is currently the most popular magic performance on the Vegas Strip, and it doesn’t disappoint.

3. Catch a Concert

Your favorite band or performer could be going to Las Vegas! Concerts are also quite popular here, and many acts will schedule multiple shows to accommodate all of their fans.

Before you go to Vegas, look into who will be performing there. If you’re not too choosy and enjoy a good concert, look for last-minute tickets to a pleasant musical evening.

4. Try Famous Restaurant Dining

You can’t visit Vegas without eating a lot of food, and the finest places to do it are the famed chefs’ restaurants on the Strip and well-known restaurants like Tao Asian Bistro and Beauty & Essex.

Some of the most prominent are Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen near Caesars Palace and Giada, which serves fine Italian food at The Cromwell. Celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, and Martha Stewart also run restaurants.

I recommend arranging dinner reservations every night! Most restaurants, including the less well-known ones, fill up quickly.

5. Visit Cocktail Lounge…or Three

Along with excellent restaurants, there are plenty of lovely cocktail lounges to sip the night away on the Strip.

The largest hotels all have a cocktail lounge, if not several. Vanderpump can be found in Caesars Palace and the Paris Hotel, Vanderpump a Paris. Vesper Bar at the Cosmopolitan has a retro feel, while Skybar in the Waldorf Astoria has a slick feel and views of the Strip.

6. Venture to the Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck

Did you know that the Paris Hotel features a facsimile of the Eiffel Tower? There is, and you may ascend to the summit for breathtaking views of the city below! Plan an evening visit to the Eiffel Tower Deck before or after supper.

The best time to visit is after the sun has set, as the Strip looks stunning when lit up at night. Seeing all major hotels, bars, and attractions from this vantage point is entertaining. And this Eiffel Tower twinkles just like the real one!

7. Listen to Live Music

You can still discover free live music in Las Vegas. We got to catch some at the Paris Hotel’s Le Cabaret. You can either stand in the back and enjoy it for free or splurge on a tasty cocktail and sit at one of the tables.

Harrah’s Piano Bar is another excellent venue to hear live music. They have dueling pianos, singers, and performers to keep things captivating for the audience. Go check it out to see who is performing! Some restaurants and bars along The Linq Promenade also provide live music.

8. Enjoy the View From High Roller at the Linq

Are you looking for more stunning views of the Strip? Go to High Roller at The Linq Promenade. This new Ferris wheel features enclosed pods to enjoy breathtaking views from 550 feet (0.17 km) in the air!

It takes about 30 minutes to complete the entire circle, so don’t try it if you’re terrified of heights. You’ll most likely travel with others, but the pods aren’t overcrowded, and there’s plenty of room to sit.

9. Soar on the Fly Linq Zipline

You can even zipline across the Linq Promenade! If you want more adrenaline, you should check   out. Glide over the promenade and experience everything from an entirely different angle.

If you feel bold, do it at night. It closes at 10 p.m., although you can still do the event after sunset.

10. Stop by the Museum of Selfies

This art gallery on the Strip is ideal for taking amusing selfies or group shots. Various displays are on display at this interactive museum.

It’s an excellent activity for everyone, whether traveling alone, with a friend, or as a family. The Museum of Selfies is a wonderful site to visit at any age.

11. Get a Crepe at the Paris Hotel and Casino

One of my favorite Las Vegas activities was exploring the massive hotels and casinos for free! The Paris Hotel is one of the most aesthetically pleasing and intricate.

Enter through the doors beneath the Eiffel Tower to see the features for yourself. Even the casino is beautiful and takes you to Paris. Continue through the casino toward Le Boulevard in Paris.

It’s like wandering down a small street in Paris, lined with stores and restaurants—even a creperie! If you’re hungry, try one of La Creperie’s crepes; the butter-sugar flavor was my favorite.

12. Visit the Flamingos at the Flamingo

The Flamingo is one of the largest and most popular hotels and casinos on the Vegas Strip. Did you know they offer a live flamingo exhibit, koi fish, and other animals?

Admire the beautiful pink birds at the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat, located inside the hotel. There are two feeding times, and you may be able to catch one. And the best part? This is a free display!

13. Head to the New York, New York Roller Coaster

You can also visit New York City while you’re in Vegas! The architecture of the New York New York Hotel and Casino mimics a New York City neighborhood.

Make your way through New York’s streets to the Big Apple Coaster. Ride through the city’s skyscrapers while admiring views of the Strip below and experiencing the excitement you didn’t realize you were looking for in Vegas!

14. Admire the Statue of Liberty

You’ll get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty if you ride the Big Apple Coaster, but you can still see this realistic facsimile if you would rather not spend the money.

The Statue of Liberty may be seen for free on the Strip, near the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue! It also creates a wonderful photo opportunity with the coaster and “skyscrapers” in the background.

15. Go Shopping on the Strip

Shop until you drop on the Las Vegas Strip. There are so many shops to select from on Las Vegas Boulevard. They have everything, from touristy shops to expensive brands.

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, The Bellagio, and Wynn Esplanade are among the Strip’s most fabulous indoor retail destinations. These retail centers have some designer stores.

16. Watch the Bellagio Fountain Show

The Bellagio Fountain is impossible to miss as you travel from one end of the Strip to the other. Every 15 minutes from midday to night, a fountain show will be performed to different music.

The fountain show is enjoyable to see both during the day and at night. This free activity will remain as long as the song plays, so don’t miss it.

17. Stroll Through the Bellagio Conservatory

In addition to the Bellagio fountain, you may visit this hotel’s small conservatory. The Bellagio Conservatory is a free activity that provides excellent photo opportunities.

The enormous greenhouse room is filled with flowers arranged in stunning presentations. It’s worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for free things to do in Las Vegas!

18. Catch the Volcano Show at the Mirage

Along with the Bellagio Fountain performance, you must see the volcanic show outside The Mirage. On the Strip, customers line up around 15 minutes before each showtime.

The events take place every hour, starting at around 7 p.m. If you want a fantastic view, arrive early, but be aware that the display uses real fire so that it can be very hot.

19. Go for a Gondola Ride at the Venetian

Pretend you’re in Venice, Italy, and reserve a genuine gondola ride at the Venetian. You can take an interior ride down the canal or an outdoor ride to see the hotel’s nicely constructed facade.

If you decide to go outside, I recommend doing so at night because it is cooler, and you can see the hotels along the Strip better. The gondola drivers even serenade passengers!

20. Stroll Through Hotels & Casinos

Spend the morning walking through some of the largest hotels on the Strip. There are several to stroll through, some of which are more complex and well-decorated. However, each has its unique mood and design; it’s fun to appreciate the beautiful hotels in Vegas.

The Venetian is my #1 choice since it genuinely feels like you’ve been transported to the streets of Venice, with all the shops and restaurants along the canal topped off by gondolas. I mentioned the Paris Hotel above, which is another of my favorites.

The other most notable hotels are New York, New York; Wynn; Caesars Palace; Bellagio; and the Cosmopolitan.

21. Go Bar Hopping

If you enjoy partying, Las Vegas is the place to go. There are several bars along the Las Vegas Strip, so you will never run out of options.

Check out an outside to-go bar like Purple Zebra, an interior bar like Bugsy’s in the Flamingo, or a cocktail lounge like Vesper, as previously noted.

22. Visit the Museum of Illusions

Are you looking for something unique to do in Las Vegas? Visit the Museum of Illusions on the Strip, between the Cosmopolitan and the Shops at Crystals.

This immersive experience transports you to a world of varied illusions, both large and small. It’s suitable for all ages and provides excellent photo possibilities!

23. Photos at the “Welcome to Las Vegas” Sign

This is a Las Vegas must-see! Go down to the southern end of the Strip, past Mandalay Bay and the Luxor Hotel & Casino. You can find the renowned “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign here!

You may have to wait your turn in line to take some adorable shots. Alternatively, arrange your visit early in the morning to avoid crowds. If you’re a passionate individual, plan your visit early before the sun rises to appreciate its neon brilliance fully.

24. Join a Helicopter Tour

Want to splurge on an exciting experience? Prepare to view Las Vegas from new heights. Literally! Helicopter rides are a pleasant and popular way to see the city from above.

At night, the Strip shines brightly in all of its neon grandeur. However, those who are afraid of heights should not participate! Some trips depart from Las Vegas and fly over the Grand Canyon and other notable sites such as Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

25. Enjoy an Afternoon Tea

Dress up and treat yourself to high tea on the Las Vegas Strip. This underappreciated activity is so much fun that I seek it out in every city I visit. Sip tea and eat tiny appetizers during a beautiful afternoon tea.

The Tea Lounge at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel is the best spot to visit while in Vegas. It opens at 11:45 a.m., so it’s the ideal place to have lunch and see a different side of the Strip!

26. Relax With a Pool Day

If you are staying at a hotel on the Strip and it is hot outside, you should visit your hotel’s pool. We booked an entire afternoon at Caesars Palace’s pools, and it was a blast!

You will likely be able to order food and cocktails at the pool and rent a cabana for your stay. Some pools, such as Mandalay Bay Beach and Influence, the Pool at the Linq, also offer day passes for purchase.

27. Shark Spotting at Mandalay Bay

Want to get up close and personal with sharks and other aquatic animals? Visit the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay for a fantastic day activity!

You can’t go wrong with a visit to an aquarium, and this one is appropriate for all ages. While you’re here, refer to the Mandalay Bay Beach pool; the beach-style entry and pool size capture the ocean vibe.

28. Try FlyOver Vegas

This immersive experience is located directly on the Strip. FlyOver, similar to a coaster ride and including spectacular effects, allows you to “soar” over some of the world’s most recognizable locations.

You can select from three rides: Wonders of the American West, Iceland, and the Canadian Rockies. It feels like you’re flying over the planet!

29. Explore Meow Wolf—Omega Mart

This one isn’t entirely on the Strip, but it’s only a short Uber ride away. And it’s well worth it! Welcome to Meow Wolf-Omega Mart, the world’s most fantastic supermarket.

Explore this immersive art museum to learn about transforming a tiny food store into a supermarket. It’s not a real store, but the artists who created it did a wonderful job that will make you wonder if you’re in another dimension.

30. Reserve a Lane at Brooklyn Bowl

You can bowl on the Strip at Brooklyn Bowl! With almost 30 lanes, this bowling alley is massive. And far from an “alley.”

They even host concerts here! How can you go wrong with bowling, live music, food, and beverages? This trip will be especially enjoyable if you’re going in a group.

31. Go Golfing in Vegas

Want to get outside and perform some physical activity while in Vegas? Try your hand at golf! Consider what the Vegas golf clubs offer if you’re a seasoned pro.

Some of the largest and most popular include Wynn Golf Club, Las Vegas Country Club, and Bali Hai Golf Club. These excellent golf clubs are located right off the Strip.
